Non-emergent medical Transportation allows injured workers to make their medical appointments if they are restricted from driving and don’t have an alternate means of travel available whether due to physical restrictions or available resources. This allows for consistent, timely treatment which truncates the duration of disability / accelerates the return to work. Coordination and management of an individual’s transportation schedule is a complex and time-consuming endeavor when done by the claim’s handler. I have attached a generic version of our Assignment Lifecycle (customized by the payer) which provides the touchpoints on each assignment. I also provided individual slices of the process with additional detail.
